Austin by day and Austin by night
Where else to experience Texas than in its capital city of Austin. It is a buzzing city where during the day, you can stroll through the beautiful parks or visit museums, and by night, dine out at a posh restaurant, take part in a creepy ghost tour or just relax in one of the many luxury hotels.
Austinhotels has accommodation to suit everyone, from cheap motels if you are on a budget, to luxury hotels. If you are online, looking up the perfect hotel, between playing games of party poker or instant messaging, then why not consider starting your holiday one day early by booking into a luxury airport hotel. This means you can leave a day early, enjoy the spa facilities, enjoy a nice meal and have a good nights sleep, with only a few minutes commute to the airport the next day.
There are many sites with guides and travel tips, so if you are overwhelmed by the choice of all the exciting places to visit, then below are the top two things you should visit by day and by night.
By Day – For those film fanatics, why not visit the annual Austin Film festival? It was the first organization to recognise the creative contribution to the film and television industry. It began in 1994 and since then has been popular every year. In 2004, the festival reached MovieMaker Magazine's top ten cities, to not only live in, but to film in too. In 2007, famous names including Iggy Pop, Tommy Morello and Pete Townsend were involved.
By Night – If you happen to visit Austin in the winter months, you should try not to miss the spectacular Christmas lights. The Zinker Park holds a Christmas display, which is made from many lights dangling from the Moonlight Tower. In addition, The Trail of Lights, is a tradition in Austin, which unfortunately had to be cancelled in 2010 due to a tight budget.
