Deep Eddy Pool Austin TX

The Deep Eddy is a municipal pool located in Austin's southern suburbs. The pool offers many services to the public all of which are concerned with the sport of swimming. Lessons for novice swimmers as well as swimming as a pastime are both features of this pool. Deep Eddy Pool happens to be the oldest man-made swimming point in Texas.

From humble beginnings as a swimming hole, it was later improved and a resort built around it. The long history of its development comes through several epochs of private management before the municipal council bought the spot and refurbished it. A flood in the recent past destroyed the bath house leaving the place filled with debris but this was later corrected with the municipal council including a park near the Deep Eddy Pool.

The pool has so far been included in the list of the historic places in the US. Several initiatives by the local population have seen it gain a lot of traffic.
