Deep Eddy Pool Hours Information
As the heat of the summer in Austin could be a bit difficult to bear up, it is not surprising that swimming is a favorite pastime in this city. Luckily, Austin boasts some of the best natural swimming holes for entertainment and enjoyment. Deep Eddy Pool is just one of them.
Located just west of downtown Austin, the Deep Eddy Pool is a historic, man-made swimming pool in this city and the oldest swimming pool in Texas. It has a favorable reception with adults for its lap swimming pool and with children for its large wading pool. All of these pools are fed with clear and cool spring water. Water temperature remains between 65 to 75 °F during the summer. With a large shallow area, families with little kids will be delighted to discover that the pool is very kid-friendly. All ages are welcomed to the pool.
Although the Deep Eddy Pool has pools for both adults and children, the timetable for them is a bit different. Generally speaking, the lap swimming pool is open during daylight hours all year. However, the hours of operation are shortened in winter. From November 6 2010 to March 11, 2011, the business hours of the Deep Eddy Pool are from 11am to 7:30pm from Monday to Sunday. As for the wading pool, it is only open from March to October. If you want to get the detailed timetable, pay close attention to this page:

Are there any fun activities or events at the pool? Yes, of course! During summer, the pool hosts various activities and sporting events. One of the most popular events at the pool is the Splash Party Movie Nights, showing family-friendly films on a screen. At the event, visitors can float in the pool, enjoy snacks, picnic on the lawn or appreciate a feature film once the sun goes down. Poor nights occur on June 26, July 10, 17, 24 and 31 as well as August 7 and 14. Please note that the food is not allowed around the pool, but is allowed in the picnic area.
As the Deep Eddy Pool is a municipal pool, there is an admission fee to spend a day at the pool. The rates for adults aged from 18 to 61 are $3, seniors are $1, juniors between 12 and 17 are $2 and kids aged 11 or under are $1. Summer swim passes are available. For payment methods, there are only two options: cash and checks. Checks can only be taken if over $32.
As for summer passes, there are some things you should consider. A current wallet-sized photo of each pass holder is required when purchase. The rate of summer pass replacement is $10. Remember that all tickets and passes are non-refundable.
