
Experience Austin Nature and Science Center - Have a Great Time with Your Family
The Austin Nature and Science Center is located in Zilker Park, one of the city's most popular tourist attractions. Established in 1960, it is dedicated to exploration and study of the natural world and provides nature exhibits, recreation, and education programs to thousands of visitors of all age. This is an ideal venue to spend a lazy Sunday with your children, having an educational as well as full of entertainment experience here.
The Austin Nature and Science Center is open to public from Monday to Saturday, from 9 am to 5 pm every day. Some of the most popular exhibits here are the wildlife exhibits which include a large collection of reptiles, mammals, birds, fishes, and amphibians. Also popular among all the visitors is the Path of Texas Fossil Hunter which has various exhibits from the late Pleistocene, early tertiary, Cretaceous Marine, Cretaceous terrestrial, and Permian Terrestrial ages.
You can also opt to enroll your child in the various naturalist workshops in the Austin Nature and Science Center. These programs are arranged from different age groups ranging from preschoolers, children, to adults and families. There are also various camps organized like the C- Days, Youth Adventure Days, Spring Break Camp, and Summer Camps. These camps offer exiting opportunities to go caving in the local wide caves, rock climbing in the Barton Creek Greenbelt, and canoeing.
There are also various special events organized in the Austin Nature and Science Center like Boy Scout Troop 8787 of habitat walks etc all round the year. You can get information on these various events, camps, and workshops at the information center of the Austin Nature and Science Center.
