Frank Erwin Center Parking Information

The Frank Erwin Center, also known as UT Erwin Center and referred to as "the Drum" or "the Superdrum" sometimes, is a part of The University of Texas. As a multi-purpose arena, it is thought as Austin's premier venue for large events.

The Frank Erwin Center is situated right next to downtown Austin. It wouldn't take you much time to driving here from downtown. For the benefits of driving visitors, Frank Erwin Center offers a number of parking lots.

Parking Lots Offered by the Center: There are three free parking lots: LOT 70, 80 and 99 located north of the Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and along the Red River Street.

Besides, LOT 118 can be found south of the Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and between the Red River Street and the I-35 Frontage Road. It is a small parking lot within walking distance of the Frank Erwin Center as well as the Hargis Hall.

LOT 108 is north of the 15th Street and east of the Red River Street. However, it might be closed to the public during some events. In that case, it is only available for people with handicap plates or sticker. And parking fees would be charged. LOT 108 is next to the Center's south box office and counts as one of the nearest parking lots to the Frank Erwin Center. It's the larger one. If you don't want to be towed, this parking lot would be the best option for you.

UT Erwin Center also provides two parking garages, one of them is south of the Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd and near the Trinity Street and the other is placed next to the Mike Myers Stadium. The parking rate is 7 dollars all day.

State Parking Lots & Garages: You can also take advantage of state parking garages or lots around the Frank Erwin Center with paying a few dollars. West of the Center located six state-run garages as well as LOT 12, 18 and 22. They are all open to the public but certain rules are applied. Parking after 5:30 PM will cost you 5 dollars.

For guests with disabilities, parking lots are available on three sides of the Frank Erwin Center. Of course, nearby state parking lots are open to them as well. Persons with mobility impairments are allowed to park in front the Center.
