The East Austin Studio Tour (E.A.S.T) is an event that started as a result of collaborative efforts of various artists from East Austin. This area is a hub of many musicians and artists and they decided to come up with an event that would bring them together and learn from each other. It was first organized in 2003 by Joseph Phillips and Jan Swec.

The East Austin Studio Tour 2009

The annual event takes place on one weekend in the month of November. This year's event has, however, been extended to 2 weekends (14th-22nd) so as to allocate a full week of art events. There will be over 210 artists and designers who will be showcasing their creative pieces. Among them will be renowned artist Barbara Lugge who will be displaying her thread paintings. The guest potter will be Bob Swaffer while neon artist Ben Livingston will be displaying his fascinating crafts.
