The founder member of Chuy's Austin, Mike Young and John Japp was the pioneer to change the barbeque joint on the Barton Spring Road in to a Mexican food location, where the restaurant was initially located. The restaurant had a very low budget decor with a very small sitting arrangement.
Soon the food turned out to be an addiction in-between the common people and the food chain started spreading it's wing throughout the Texas. Today it is being claimed as one of the refreshing spot for Mexican food at an affordable price.
