Simple Guide to Austin Children's Museum - Seeking Fun for the Entire Family

Austin Children's Museum is a famous tourist destination which blends education, fun and entertainment for children. This museum has made the learning experience for children lot of fun. In this museum, children are encouraged to learn new things, they are encouraged to think independently and unleash their creative imagination. It is located in West 5th Street and was established in the year 1983.

The museum has approximately 12,500 sq ft of exhibit space. The exhibits are all created in a way to entertain and educate the curious minds of kids. The museum also provides play space for children. The feature exhibit section hosts multiple displays in rotation for children and their parents every year.

The current feature exhibitions include Ready, Set, Roll, Notion of Motion and The Big Game. The permanent exhibit area includes displays including Tinkerer's Workshop which hones the problem solving skills of children, Rising Star Ranch which is specially designed for children below 2 years of age.

Global City is another permanent exhibit where children can play and learn about various things. The Funsruction Zone helps children to construct models. En mi Familia has been designed by Carmen Lomas Garza, who is a famous artist.

The Austin museum operates between 10am and 5pm throughout the week except on Sundays when it opens at 12 and closes at 5pm. Admission fees for children are from $4.50 to $6.50 depending on the age and for adults it is $6.50. Different programs and events are held in the museum which includes storytime, Baby Bloomers, Armstrong Music School and Science Sunday.
