2) What to expect in Texas State Capitol Building

The Texas Capitol State building is hard to miss, with the imposing structure looming over pedestrians in the center of downtown Austin. On the southeast corner of the Capitol grounds is the visitor's center. There, you can obtain information on the building's history. The guided tour begins on the south entrance. Found on the first floor are the old State Treasury Business Office, the Agricultural Museum and the Office of the Secretary of State. On the second floor are the House Chamber and the Senate. On the third floor are the courtrooms and the House and Senate galleries. There is also an underground extension where you will find an atrium, a rotunda, a gift shop and a cafeteria.
